January's Favourite Posts

I get endless inspiration from all the amazing design bloggers out there - not just on everyday life, but for my projects and assignments (I am half way of a long-distance diploma in interior design).

When time is short, I go over all the images, discovering new designers, new magazines, new books and save the posts for a more detailed viewing later. Every now and day there is a particular post that catches my attention, goes in my favourites and stays there, for me to come back to, again and again.

This is what this monthly post will be about - the five posts (in no particular order) that in the past month have inspired me the most, made me think for a while and that I know I will refer to in the future.

Joni, at Cote de Texas was one of the first design bloggers I have read and her posts invariably keep me glued to my computer screen - so it is no surprise that two of my favourite posts this month are hers! She is a designer with a fabulous classy taste and she writes extremely well-researched posts, usually with wonderful images. This month I particularly loved her post on skirted tables. Not only was it informative, but it was so loaded with inspiring images that I even printed it for future reference! Another of Joni's posts I had so much fun reading was A Meeting of Blogs about her meet-up with another fabulous designer and blogger, Patricia Gray.

Which leads me to another favourite post this month, on Patricia's own blog, on the Dallas trip. Patricia is an interior designer based in Vancouver, with a incredible taste, and I love reading her inspiring blog. I love the sleek lines in her work!

Still on the travelling subject, the very chic Ronda of All the Best was just in Paris and wrote a wonderful post on Maison & Object!

One of my favourite bloggers, the glamorous This is Glamorous, posted about one of my favourite subjects, England, and included fabulous photos, so I could I not love that post?! The English Countryside is a post I've gone back to quite a few times just to, you know, pretend I'm there... Still from this blog, a beautiful and moving post on Valentino's last collection!

Last, but not least, I have to mention not one post but the series of posts (Series I, Series II, Series III) that All Things Bright and Beautiful so painstakingly put together for new bloggers! The posts (fifteen or so altogether) are extremely informative, filled with tips, help, interviews with pro bloggers and I cannot even imagine the amount of time she has dedicated to writing them. Thank you!!

Ok, so that was not really five posts... I knew this would not be easy, but what is the pont of having your own blog if you can't break your own rules?! ;-)

What about your favourite posts this month? If you feel like sharing, please leave a comment and a link to them - I'm always looking for new inspiring blogs and posts!

Claudia, what a lovely surprise! I'm so touched--thanks so much for the wonderful mention. I know we definitely have tartan in common, as well as a love for the English countryside. I'm so glad you enjoyed that post and Valentino's last collection, well, it was a moment in history. Thanks, again!
